Dr. Jeffrey
Appointed to Advisory Board of Living Well Publication - April 2005
Betty Barker Smith, publisher of a new health magazine,
Living Well, has appointed Dr. Jay R. Jeffrey, a Batesville surgeon,
to the magazine’s advisory board.
Dr. Jeffrey is board certified by the American
Board of Surgery practicing general, peripheral vascular, and thoracic
surgery. He is a former chief of surgery and chief of the medical
staff of White River Medical Center in Batesville. He has practiced
in Batesville since 1995.
Living Well magazine’s advisory board is
made up of physicians and health care specialists who provide information
and oversight to ensure that the content of Living Well magazine
is accurate and reliable, Smith said.
“We are glad that Dr. Jeffrey has agreed
to help us provide information that will increase reader awareness
of major health issues of our time. He is an excellent surgeon,
respected by his patients and peers.”
A native of Kentucky with family ties to Baxter
County, Dr. Jeffrey graduated from Emory University in Atlanta,
then received his medical degree at the University of Louisville
School of Medicine in Louisville, Ky. He completed his surgery internship
and surgery residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo,
New York.
Living Well is a bimonthly magazine available at
key locations in the Ozarks region, including Mountain Home, Harrison,
Mountain View, and Batesville. It is a publication of Baxter County
